GIRC committee

The GIRC (GATE Identification Review Committee) has finished it's work, and has a draft proposal which is being polished up for presentation to the Board of Education at the February 3rd board meeting.

The draft proposal represents a significant change in how the district identifies gifted students, and takes into account the problems experienced in recent years. The new identification process is the cornerstone of reforming the GATE program. It will address many of the concerns of parents and educators, and will serve as the foundation of further reforms.

Parents interested hearing firsthand about the new identification process are urged to attend the February 3rd board meeting.
